Teresa dedicated the first monastery of the Reform to St. Joseph, San Jose in Avila. The year before, on the feast of the Assumption, in a rapture during Mass she saw herself vested in a white robe of shining brightness….
As a young nun in the Incarnation Teresa was miraculously cured of a mysterious paralysis, through the powerful intervention of St. Joseph. As a result she developed a tremendous love for him.’ “I took for my advocate and lord the glorious St. Joseph and earnestly recommended myself to him…”
Our beautiful new monastery was opened and dedicated to St Joseph on his Solemnity 19th March 2005.
Seven foundresses set out from Roebuck Carmel on Nov 19th 1881 to establish a new monastery at Kilmacud, carrying their small treasured statue of St Joseph.
